The book of Romans teaches that God has not finished with the nation of Israel, with the primary passages being Romans 9:6 which states “it is not as though the word of God has failed,” and Romans 11:1-6 and Romans 11:25-26 which directly asks and answers the question of whether God has cast away His people, concluding that God has not rejected the Jewish people, but will ultimately save a future remnant.

- Paul addresses the apparent contradiction of Israel’s unbelief by asserting that God’s Word has not failed.
- He explains that the issue is not that God has forgotten or abandoned His promises to the nation, but rather that “not all who are descended from Israel are truly Israel”.
- Paul directly poses the question, “I ask then, has God rejected His people?”.
- His immediate answer is, “Certainly not!”.
- He explains that there is a “remnant chosen by grace,” similar to the remnant in the time of Elijah, proving that God remains faithful to His people.
Romans 11:25-26
- Paul concludes that a future event, a “full inclusion” of Israel, will occur after the “fullness of the Gentiles” (the “Rapture”) has come in.
- This future event will result in “all Israel” being saved, indicating God’s ultimate plan for His chosen nation is not over.

St. Augustine (embraced by the Roman Church) taught the Kingdom of God is already present in the (Roman) church, and denied any future, physical return (or reign) of Jesus Christ (Messiah) on Earth (rejecting the prophecies found in both the New and the Old Testaments.
The Roman Pope is considered to be Jesus Christ on Earth (the “Vicar of Christ”).
St. Augustine taught that prophecies of the End Times as found in the book of Revelation and elsewhere in the Bible (such as the Rapture, Antichrist, Apocalypse, and Armageddon) should not be taken literally, as he emphasized the importance of living a life of faith in the present rather than “speculating” on future events.

The book of Romans teaches that God has not finished with the nation of Israel, with the primary passages being Romans 9:6 which states “it is not as though the word of God has failed,” and Romans 11:1-6 and Romans 11:25-26 which directly asks and answers the question of whether God has cast away His people, concluding that God has not rejected the Jewish people, but will ultimately save a future remnant.

- His immediate answer is, “Certainly not!”.
- He explains that there is a “remnant chosen by grace,” similar to the remnant in the time of Elijah, proving that God remains faithful to His people.
Romans 11:25-26
- Paul concludes that a future event, a “full inclusion” of Israel, will occur after the “fullness of the Gentiles” (the “Rapture”) has come in.
- This future event will result in “all Israel” being saved, indicating God’s ultimate plan for His chosen nation is not over.
